Meet Leo!

Leo was surrendered to a local veterinary clinic when his previous owner was unable to provide medical care to him. He was experiencing issues urinating and was covered in fleas. The clinic provided him with much needed medical care and cared for him for over a month while looking for a rescue placement that could find him a forever home!

Leo is a natural charmer! Although he may start off reserved with new people, give him time and space and he'll soon show his true, confident self!

He's not much of a cuddler, but he enjoys being around his people and will happily keep you company. Offer him a few loving pets and he'll be purring in no time.

When the playful mood strikes, he loves to zoom around the house with his feline housemate!

Leo has a history of urinary blockage so is currently on a prescription urinary diet that helps to keep his urinary tract healthy and prevent further episodes. This diet will be recommended life-long unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian. To further reduce the chances of ongoing urinary issues KAR elected to have a perineal urethrostomy performed - this surgery widens the urethra of the cat to significantly reduce the likelihood of recurrent urinary issues. There is no further treatment required now that he has healed from his surgery!

Since his surgery, Leo has blossomed into a more outgoing, energetic version of himself, and it's been wonderful to see him come out of his shell!

Leo would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can settle in at his own pace and would likely do well with other friendly cats.
Leo is currently in foster with another KAR alumni and they get along very well, he has also lived with cats previously so he would likely do well in a home with other friendly cats.

Leo is currently on a veterinary prescription formula (dry and wet food) to provide him urinary support and help him stay regular! This diet is recommended life long unless otherwise directed by a veterinarian. Thankfully he really enjoys the food and doesn't even know it's healthy for him!

Leo came to us a bit on the thicc side, so his foster has been working hard to help him shed a couple extra pounds and become the svelte and handsome boy she knows he is!

If you think this handsome, sweet boy is the purr-fect addition to your family, apply online today!

Leo is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas, vaccinated for core and non-core vaccines and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and Immunodeficiency viruses.
